Meet our Board of Directors

YNCU’s Board of Directors represents the interests of members and helps set the overall strategy and direction of the credit union. Board members are elected by members and serve in a governance role. They help guide policy, oversight, and long-term priorities, while YNCU’s leadership team and employees manage day-to-day operations.

    Board Chair

    Anthony Piscitelli

    Anthony brings extensive expertise in governance, social innovation, and cooperative leadership to the Board. With experience spanning government, the non-profit sector, and academia, Anthony offers a strong foundation in policy, strategy, and organizational effectiveness. He holds a Doctorate in Geography and a Master’s degree in Political Science from Wilfrid Laurier University, along with the ICD.D designation and Accredited Canadian Credit Union Director (ACCUD) certification. Anthony is committed to strong governance practices and fostering effective collaboration between the Board and management. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys coaching his children’s basketball teams and spending time with his family.

    Vice Chair

    Donna Bailey

    Donna brings extensive board leadership and deep cooperative sector experience to the YNCU Board. Currently, she serves as Vice Chair, Risk Committee Chair, and on the Executive Committee, contributing to strategic oversight and strong board effectiveness. She holds an MBA from Athabasca University, along with ICD.D, ACCUD, and CUDA credentials, reflecting her commitment to continuous governance development. Donna has longstanding involvement in the cooperative sector and continues to serve in community leadership roles focused on inclusion and support for vulnerable populations, as well as youth development through Scouts Canada. Committed to strengthening the long-term financial sustainability of YNCU, she brings board focus on building financial well-being for current and future members. With six wonderful grandchildren and a strong family and friend circle, Donna lives life to the fullest every day.

    Board Member

    Terry H. A. Bodnar

    Terry brings more than 30 years of senior leadership experience in regulated financial services, investment management, and risk oversight to the YNCU Board. During his career, he attained the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA CA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designations.   Throughout his investment management career, he offered deep technical expertise in governance, compliance, risk management, and financial strategy to both federally and provincially regulated member- and policyholder-owned financial institutions, charities, and foundations across Canada. His experience provides a strong perspective on regulatory compliance and long-term financial stewardship.   Terry is committed to supporting strong governance and ensuring responsible financial decision-making on behalf of members. Now retired, he can be found watching Lake Huron sunsets with his wife or travelling to see his grandchildren compete in dance competitions, hockey and lacrosse tournaments throughout Ontario.

    Andrew Abouchar

    Andrew brings extensive experience in finance, lending, investment, and governance to the YNCU Board. As both a borrower and lender throughout his career, he offers a balanced perspective on credit, risk management, and sustainable growth. Andrew has worked with a wide range of residential, commercial, and investment opportunities, helping organizations navigate complex financial decisions while maintaining strong risk discipline. He is passionate about supporting member-focused financial services and helping guide YNCU’s continued growth and success.

    Board Member

    Hugh Doherty

    Hugh Doherty brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in municipal administration, public service, governance, and member advocacy. A graduate of St. Lawrence College, he has led teams through complex operational challenges while fostering collaboration, accountability, and service excellence. Hugh is a recognized advocate for first responder mental health and wellness across Ontario. Through advocacy and peer support initiatives, he has advanced mental health awareness, education, and support for emergency service personnel. His contributions have been recognized with both the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and the King Charles III Coronation Medal. A dedicated supporter of the co-operative model for more than 30 years, Hugh has served on the boards of Firefighters' Credit Union, Comtech Fire Credit Union, and now YNCU. He is committed to responsible governance, strong member relationships, and ensuring YNCU remains responsive to the needs of the members, families, and communities it serves.

    Eileen Foroglou

    Eileen brings more than 20 years of experience in financial leadership, governance, strategic planning, and operational oversight to the YNCU Board. Her background spans finance, marketing, human resources, technology, and administration, providing a well-rounded perspective on organizational leadership and innovation. Eileen is passionate about leveraging emerging technologies, including AI and data analytics, to strengthen member experience, organizational agility, and long-term sustainability. She is committed to fostering accountability, innovation, and sound governance practices.

    Board Member

    Lloyd Hotchkiss

    Lloyd brings more than 30 years of progressive leadership experience in operations, business planning, and financial management to the YNCU Board. He has served on the Board for nine years, as well as on the Community First Credit Union Board prior to the merger, contributing to committees including Governance, Nominating, and Pension. In his professional role, Lloyd oversees operations across multiple Ontario communities, providing expertise in budgeting, logistics, sales, and long-term planning. He also holds a Mechanical Engineering Technology diploma and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Laurentian University (Algoma Campus). Lloyd is committed to strengthening member experience, supporting community investment, and ensuring long-term sustainability for the credit union.

    Nik Lemieux

    Nik brings more than 20 years of experience in financial management, entrepreneurship, governance, and strategic planning to the YNCU Board. She is the Founder and CEO of Mirabel Management and serves as Chief Financial Officer of Atlético Ottawa, providing leadership in financial stewardship, organizational growth, and long-term planning. Throughout her career, Nik has worked with organizations across a variety of sectors, helping them build financial strength and achieve sustainable growth. She is passionate about creating positive community impact through philanthropy, affordable housing initiatives, and supporting organizations that strengthen the communities they serve. Outside of her professional and board commitments, Nik enjoys travelling, spending time on the water, and cross-country skiing. She values opportunities to connect with family, recharge in nature, and maintain a healthy balance between work and personal life.

    Rob Martin

    Rob brings more than 35 years of leadership experience in marketing, strategy, and member engagement to the YNCU Board. With a strong background in the co-operative and financial services sectors, he is passionate about the values that distinguish credit unions and the important role they play in supporting communities. Rob has extensive board and governance experience and is committed to ensuring organizations remain relevant, member-focused, and community-driven. He believes strongly in delivering meaningful value and exceptional member experiences.

    Lisa Salvini

    Lisa brings over 25 years of human resources leadership experience to the YNCU Board, along with a strong commitment to people-focused governance and organizational development. Having previously worked at YNCU, she has a firsthand understanding of the credit union’s impact on members and communities. Throughout her career, Lisa has led complex HR initiatives across multiple industries, building expertise in leadership, labour relations, change management, and continuous improvement. She is a lifelong learner with certifications in inclusion and leadership, PROSCI change management, and Lean methodologies. Lisa is passionate about enhancing member experience, strengthening workplace culture, and supporting ethical, collaborative governance.

    Aleksandra Szaflarska

    Aleksandra brings a strong background in co-operatives, governance, community development, and strategic leadership to the YNCU Board. Her experience as an instructor, researcher, and practitioner within the co-operative sector has helped shape her collaborative and community-focused approach. Aleksandra has played a leadership role in affordable housing initiatives and large-scale community projects, providing valuable expertise in governance, fiduciary oversight, and strategic growth. She is passionate about transparency, accountability, and strengthening the co-operative values that guide YNCU.

    Ajay Vashisht

    Ajay brings extensive experience in governance, strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and operational leadership to the YNCU Board. With nearly two decades of experience in legal, compliance, and financial services environments, he offers strong insight into risk management, mergers and acquisitions, and organizational strategy. Ajay is passionate about the co-operative model and values YNCU’s commitment to community impact and sustainability. Outside of his board work, he enjoys travelling and spending time with his wife and children.

    Board Member

    Dave Walker

    Dave brings extensive governance, risk management, and public sector experience to the YNCU Board. He has served in a variety of board roles since 2006, including through the merger that formed YNCU, and has contributed to key committees, including Audit, Governance, and Executive. With a long career in the federal public service, Dave has held roles in national training coordination, policy development, and risk assessment. His background provides a strong analytical approach to oversight and decision-making, with a focus on protecting members’ financial well-being. Dave has lived in Sault Ste. Marie for 22 years and maintains deep ties to Southwestern Ontario. He values community connection and brings a grounded, member-focused perspective to his board work.
