A new YNCU digital banking experience is coming October 6
On October 6, 2026, YNCU is moving to a new online and mobile banking experience, with a refreshed look, easier navigation and a simpler way to manage your everyday banking. Your accounts and everyday banking services aren’t changing, and your existing bill payees and Interac e-Transfer® recipients will move with you.
The first time you sign in, you’ll need your YNCU member number and current Personal Access Code (PAC). From there, we’ll guide you through creating a new username and password and verifying your identity. It’s also a good idea to make sure your email address and mobile number are up to date before you get started.
You’ll continue to access online banking through yncu.com. If you bank from your phone, you’ll need to download the new YNCU Mobile Banking app.

Loblaws bread class action settlement payments via Interac e-Transfer®
July, 2026
Eligible Canadians will begin receiving settlement payments related to the Loblaws Bread Class Action Lawsuit via Interac e-Transfer® starting May 13, 2026.
These payments are being distributed by the court-appointed settlement administrator, Verita, and may arrive unexpectedly for some recipients. As a result, individuals may
question the legitimacy of the notification.
What to Expect
-
Interac e-Transfer is a legitimate method for distributing these settlement funds
- Some recipients may receive notifications even if they have forgotten about submitting a claim
- Increased communications of this nature may also lead to fraudulent attempts posing as legitimate transfers
How to Protect Yourself
We encourage members to remain vigilant and take the following precautions when receiving an Interac e-Transfer:
- Verify the sender before accepting any transfer
- Be cautious of unexpected messages, especially those containing:
- Suspicious links
- Spelling or grammatical errors
- Urgent or unusual requests
- Where available, consider enabling Interac e-Transfer Autodeposit, which reduces the risk of fraud by depositing funds directly into your account without the need to answer a security question

Exciting news: Comtech Fire CU is joining the YNCU family (Merger announcement)
March 18, 2025
Dear Members,
I’m thrilled to share some exciting news with you—Pending regulatory approval, Your Neighbourhood Credit Union (YNCU) is preparing to welcome Comtech Fire Credit Union as part of our organization. This acquisition is proposed to be completed in Summer of 2025, when Comtech Fire members will officially become YNCU members. This is an incredible opportunity to expand our collective strength, resources, and impact for the benefit of our members and communities.
The due diligence process, which ensures that both credit unions are aligned in mission, values, and operations, has been successfully completed. This thorough review involved assessing our financials, governance, strategic goals, and cultural compatibility to guarantee that this partnership would serve the best interests of our members and staff. With the process now complete, we are confident that moving forward together is the right choice for growth, stability, and community impact.
I want to emphasize that this will result in no job losses. You will continue to experience the same friendly and knowledgeable service that YNCU has always provided, now strengthened by the additional resources from Comtech Fire. This will enable us to better serve you, improve our offerings, and build an even more robust credit union experience.
Once these two great organizations come together, YNCU will grow to serve 65,000 members, manage $3.5 billion in assets under administration, and operate 22 branches across 18 communities in Ontario. This larger collective presence will help us continue to innovate, enhance services, and maintain our commitment to putting members and the community first. This expansion of our branch network will mean that following a planned system integration, you will have the ability to do your banking at any of our 22 branch locations, including Comtech Fire’s branches in Ottawa, Kingston, Mississauga, Amherstview, and Toronto. This means more convenient banking options and greater access to our comprehensive suite of financial services.
As Comtech Fire Credit Union is the smaller entity, its members will have the opportunity to cast their vote to help move the process forward. YNCU members will not need to vote, as we are the acquiring credit union. The vote is scheduled to take place in May 2025 and we will provide updates on the outcome to all members.
We encourage you to visit CUStrongerTogether.ca for more detailed information, updates, and FAQs about this partnership. We are committed to keeping you updated in the coming months.
Thank you for being an essential part of the YNCU community. We are excited about what lies ahead and look forward to a bright and strong future together.
Lisa Colangelo CEO,
Your Neighbourhood Credit Union
Enhancing security: Member ID verification
As a security best practice, we periodically request updated identification from all our members. Keeping your identification details current helps us safeguard your accounts and ensures we can continue to provide you with seamless service.
When you visit a YNCU branch, you will be asked to provide identification to validate your identity. This simple step helps us protect your account and ensure that only authorized individuals can access your information.
To ensure there is no interruption to your service when visiting a branch, please remember to bring your valid identification with you. This will allow us to quickly and efficiently verify your identity and assist you with your banking needs
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain the highest standards of security for all our members.
