As a Certified B Corporation, we measure our impact across areas including our people, communities, environment and governance. YNCU earned a B Impact Score of 81.4, compared with a current median score of 50.9 for ordinary businesses completing the assessment. The score gives us a clear benchmark for where we’re making a difference—and where we can keep improving.

Good neighbours in action
Good neighbours in action
Since 2019, YNCU employees have volunteered their time with local charities and community organizations, putting their skills, energy and personal passion to work where it matters most. Through our Good Neighbours Employee Volunteer Program, YNCU also adds financial support to that effort—turning employee volunteer hours into donations for the causes they choose.In 2025 alone, 182 employees contributed 2,870 volunteer hours.

A lighter footprint
We’re looking for practical ways to reduce our environmental impact—from how we power and heat our branches to how we travel, recycle and use resources. We’ve invested in renewable electricity, EV charging, energy-efficient technology, waste reduction and emissions tracking, while supporting tree planting, reforestation, micro-forests and pollinator gardens in the communities we serve. We’ve also committed to a 60% carbon reduction target with Sustainable Waterloo Region.
