Our Approach to AI: Human-led. Member-first. AI-assisted.
We believe technology should make banking better for people—not make banking less human. Some of the imagery on this website has been created or enhanced using artificial intelligence. Every AI-generated image is reviewed, selected and finalized by a human designer to ensure it reflects our brand, our community and the experience we want to create for our members. AI has been used as a creative and productivity tool—not as a replacement for the people behind our brand. Our overall website, including the concepts, user experience, visual identity, brand strategy, content direction and design approach, has been developed by people. AI has simply helped our team work more efficiently, explore ideas faster and create high-quality visual experiences without unnecessary production costs. Our goal is to adhere to the Ontario Human Rights Commission's Principles for the Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence

Why we use AI
As a credit union, we have a responsibility to use our resources thoughtfully. Using AI for certain creative applications can reduce the need for expensive photography, stock imagery, agency production and other costs, allowing us to invest more of our resources where they matter most: in our members and our communities.
Our goal isn't to spend less for the sake of spending less. It's to work smarter so that more of the value we create can stay within our credit union—supporting member benefits, dividends, community investment, better experiences and the services our members rely on. It also allows us to compete with the scale and visual sophistication of Canada's largest financial institutions while maintaining something uniquely ours: our own identity, our own voice and our commitment to members.
AI doesn't replace our people
Our AI-powered chat experience is designed to complement our people, not replace the human relationships at the heart of our credit union. The chatbot can help provide quick answers, explain information, direct members to resources and offer support outside regular hours. This helps close the gap between when members need assistance and when a human representative is available.
It does not replace the need for our employees. When a question requires personal judgment, empathy, specialized assistance or a deeper understanding of a member's circumstances, members can connect with our team. AI handles the routine. Our people handle what matters most.
Your information remains personal
Our use of AI is focused on improving creative work, efficiency, accessibility and convenience—not on extracting value from our members' personal information. However, as we use third-party tools, our members should also avoid entering sensitive personal, account or financial information into an AI chat experience unless specifically instructed to do so through an approved and secure process.

AI can make mistakes
Artificial intelligence is a powerful tool, but it is not perfect. AI-generated information can sometimes be incomplete, outdated, misleading or simply wrong. That's why we don't treat AI as an authority or a replacement for human judgment.
Our AI experiences are designed with appropriate human oversight, and important questions or situations can be directed to our team. For important financial decisions, we encourage members to verify information and speak with a qualified member of our team where appropriate. When accuracy really matters, a human should be part of the conversation.
Responsible creativity
We also recognize that AI-generated imagery raises important questions about representation, creativity, intellectual property, environmental impact and the people whose work has traditionally contributed to visual production. We use AI thoughtfully and selectively—not simply because it is available. Human designers remain responsible for the creative direction, selection and final approval of imagery.
We also recognize that traditional stock photography is not without its own complexities. The people represented in commercial photography, for example, may not necessarily share equally in the value generated from how their images are licensed and reused. For us, responsible creative practice means considering the broader impact of the tools we use rather than assuming that one approach is automatically more ethical than another.
Where AI can help us reduce unnecessary production, travel, physical resources or repeated photography, we see an opportunity to reduce waste and work more sustainably. At the same time, we recognize that AI itself has an environmental footprint, which is why efficiency and thoughtful use matter.
Always human at the centre
Our use of AI comes down to one principle: Technology should make it easier for us to serve our members—not make us less connected to them.
We will continue to use AI where it can improve convenience, accessibility, efficiency and creativity, while keeping human judgment, accountability, privacy and member well-being at the centre of our decisions. Because being a credit union isn't about being the biggest. It's about being better for the people who belong to us and reflecting their values.
