Canada Post Strike – What It Means for You

Canada Post is currently on strike, and this may cause delays for services that rely on mailed delivery. Here’s what you need to know and how we can help:

What may be delayed:

  • Cheque orders
  • VISA Debit card orders
  • Term renewal notices
  • Mortgage renewal notices
  • Monthly statements

What you can do:

  • Cheques – Please refrain from ordering new cheques until after the strike is resolved.
  • VISA Debit cards – Can be fulfilled in-branch during the strike.
  • Statements – View your statements anytime through online banking. If you’d prefer a paper copy, we can print one for you in branch.
  • Renewals – Our team will connect with you by phone for term and mortgage renewals, so nothing is missed.

Reminder for Timmins Members

Your branch move communications will be facilitated by email rather than mail. Please contact your branch or our Service Excellence Centre to ensure we have the correct email on file.

Government payments (CPP, OAS, CCB)

If you haven’t received your payment, you can:

  • Contact Service Canada at 1-800-277-9914 or visit a Service Canada Office.
  • Sign up for Direct Deposit – the fastest and most reliable way to receive payments.
  • You can even sign up for CRA Direct Deposit right from your online banking with YNCU.
  • Provide a residential mailing address instead of a PO Box.

To submit documents for CPP or OAS:

  • Use the secure “Upload Supporting Documents” feature in your My Service Canada Account.
  • Or bring them to a Service Canada Office in person.

We know postal delays can be frustrating. Thank you for your patience as we work to keep things running smoothly and ensure you have uninterrupted access to your accounts and payments.
